Rekey Services — New Keys, Same Locks
Rekey your locks in Elmhurst and nearby suburbs. Change who has access without replacing every lock body.
(630) 349-7037Locks still turn, but the wrong people might have keys. Rekey keeps the hardware and changes who gets in. We do this on houses and commercial cylinders all over our western-suburb routes.
What a rekey actually does
We change the internal pin configuration of your cylinders so previous keys no longer enter. You keep the lock bodies and usually the trim, which saves money and preserves the look of your doors.
Bring all keys you still have. Extra keys help us verify the work and provide you with a complete new set when finished.
Best times to rekey
After closing on a house, after a tenant moves out, after a contractor project, after a divorce or roommate change, and after a stolen purse or backpack that held house keys. If the keys were tagged with your address, treat rekeying as urgent.
Commercial rekey schedules
Property managers often rekey in phases—common entries first, then suites. We can work after business hours within our posted schedule so customers are not disrupted.
Common questions
Is rekeying cheaper than new locks?
Usually yes, when the existing hardware is in good shape and uses a common keyway.
Can different brands be keyed alike?
Only when they share a compatible keyway. We will tell you on site what is possible.
How many new keys do I get?
We cut the quantity you request. Many households start with four to six keys and add spares later.
